Youth Day Event In-Person / Online

The Department of Library Services at the University of Pretoria warmly invites you to join us at the Youth Day Hybrid Event with two very special speakers.

We will be hosting two exceptional speakers, Dylan Chimuza and Mongiwa Ntuli. Dylan and Mongiwa are second-year BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics students and they will both share their inspiring journeys to success.

About the speakers:

Mongiwa Hazel Ntuli

Battling inadequacy and imposter syndrome

Mongiwa was born and raised in Johannesburg, specifically in the charming town of Rosettenville. She entered the world on May 19, 2007, and has since demonstrated remarkable achievements and unwavering determination. Having skipped grades 4 and 6, guided by an inspiring mathematics teacher, she has continued to forge ahead without hesitation. Her accomplishments have gathered a lot of attention throughout her high school and university years, particularly due to her young age. She is currently in the second year of her BSc in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics undergraduate degree. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is fueled by a profound passion for combating climate change and is committed to leveraging her skills and education to uncover innovative approaches to addressing this global challenge.

Dylan Chimuza

Imperfect, yet perfect

Dylan Chimuza, a twenty-year-old, second-year BSc Actuarial, and Financial Mathematics student, was born on November 25, 2002, at Banket Hospital in Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe. With a passion for science and a keen interest in finance, Dylan also enjoys keeping up with the latest trends in technology and politics, particularly engaging in political debates. Growing up in a region plagued by financial and economic challenges, he aims to make a positive impact through his pursuit of actuarial studies.
